We're getting busy before the festival even begins.
The 'Write on the Fringe' festival organisers have received our student group enthusiastically and have been busy mentoring and pointing us in the right direction for author/artist interviews. We hope to see some student work on local blogs soon (we'll keep you updated). Thanks to Sarah, Rachel, Tash, Rosie, Philippe, Jasmin, Sherryn and Gena.
Shahn, Tash, Rachel and I have been working on writing media releases for newspapers in the regions surrounding Bendigo. There has been an overwhelmingly positive response from editors and we expect to see the first of our work in print by the end of this week (Ballarat Miner). The direction we took was to 'sell' the regional Victorian aspect by highlighting authors/artists from the local area of the paper. It worked!
The project became a lot more involved than I had expected so I have focussed my attention on coordination and editing to ensure we submit a consistent quality of work to the festival organisers.
Thanks to the students involved in this project. Our efforts are very much appreciated by the committee.
